Hot, hot, holy-hot, batman!!  Ohhhh… those were the days.  Where has summer gone?!  It is so nice to revisit the warm weather looking back on the gorgeous, hot afternoon strolling along the Columbia River with Jangle and Austin.

Getting married in August, we got together for some oh-so casual engagement photography, along with sweet Maya and got to know each other, and what it’s like to work with each other, waaa-aaayy  back in June… like I said, back in the summer!

Even in the short span of our portrait session, it’s nice to get a sense of who I’ll be working with on the big day.  And, thankfully, Janelle and Austin are just great!  I really am so very fortunate for the terrific couples I have the pleasure to work with.

I look forward to their lakeside wedding in a few weeks.  When summer returns…… ?

I love Canmore!

While I live in the mountains and I wake up to one of the best views anywhere, there’s just something about how vivid and close the mountains seem in and around Canmore.  It’s so spectacular.

So, when Samantha and I decided to meet on a glorious evening in Canmore I was totally jazzed!  We opted to go up to Quarry Lake where it was the biggest bang for the buck given how late we were meeting.  SO beautiful and just the best conditions.  It was a wonderful place for an evening of engagement photography and getting to know this lovely couple before their big day in Fairmont the following weekend.

Wowzer.  So pretty… and how cute are Samantha and Andrew?!

destination wedding photography- fairmont hot springs, bc

What a fabulous day with Chantel and Patrick… despite the near rain-out!!  It’s always amazing to me how the weather in the Valley can change literally on a dime.  It rained HARD throughout the bridal prep and we watched as folks trudged outside in their rain gear and umbrellas.

And then, as we made our way to the chalet up at the ski hill… the clouds began to part.  And for portraits… yum yum!  Nothing better than the light after the rain!

And, as we talk about how beautiful the day was, it really was made just that much more lovely with gorgeous Chantel!  Honestly… perfection!  Not only is she beautiful, but completely chill.  Particularly as the plans she made inevitably changed due to the weather.  I love my clients!

To make the day complete, it was, of course, all about the love.  SO much love!

Destination wedding photography at its Valley finest once again.

Simply a wonderful day!  Thank you so much, Chantel and Patrick for letting me capture it!  I am so very fortunate to do what I do and couples like you just make it so darned wonderful!

tracy connery boudoir photography

What a beautiful evening for an outdoor boudoir photography session!  It was fantastic shooting conditions and client Lindsey… well, in a word, gorrrrrrr-geousssss!!!

Wanting a gift for her groom, she thought some intimate images from the Valley would be a perfect choice.  So right!

I was so happy with our locations- also perfect!- and it was amazing that we encountered nary a soul the entire evening. Or at least not until Lindsey was almost done getting back into her day clothes!  It couldn’t have gone better!

Working with Lindsey was so very wonderful and easy, without a bad angle, truthfully!  Beautiful and fun… I hope her husband to be knows what a lucky guy he is!

The team of lovely and exceptionally talented ladies I must thank.  Without whom this evening would not have happened:

Hair:  Camara of Pinup Parlour Salon & Spa in Fairmont

Makeup:  Sarah Gibson of Cheyanne Artistry

The fantastic, vintage chair:  Teresa of The Painted Porch, Invermere

Thanks, too, to the always wonderful Marlene Chabot for coming out to shoot with me!

What can I say… the unique opportunities that befall me in this here wedding photography biz simply leave me overjoyed!  Outside of heading to Mexico – hell-llloooo!! – and, OK, Tofino, too, my day with Kimberley and Josh is yet another fantastic example!!  This one is particularly exciting because it took me completely outside my comfort zone.  When Kim asked if I’d be up for providing a stop-motion dogsledding… how could I possibly not jump at the chance?!

My first dogsled wedding, beautifully coordinated by Kim and Josh and expertly executed by the fantastic folks, owners Amanda and Darin, cutey patootie, Jordyn, and guide, Angie, of Coldfire Creek Dogsledding near Valemount, BC.  A. Fabulous. Fabulous. Day!!!  With a fabulous couple.  It was so laid back and easy and they wed in the most lovely of settings.  Not to mention, one of my favourite ‘you may kiss the bride’ kisses EVER!

A special, special shout-out to the ladies at Canterbury Flowers in Invermere for going above and beyond to make sure Kim’s day was as special and memorable as possible!!

A couple of days later, it was my pleasure to spend the reception day with Kim, Josh and their families as well.  From dogsledding to the wonderful Eagle Ranch Resort in Invermere.  Despite the threat of rain… the day went off without a hitch.

Really quite perfect, not to mention totally unique and utterly memorable… from start to finish.

Thank you both so, so much for including me in such a fantastic experience!

In case you missed it… dogsled wedding revisited!
