I figured since I was meeting them anyways, why not knock off a few shots just to get to know each other….  And, despite seeing me after a weekend with, shall we say, very little for ammenities… they agreed and, with only the benefit of a cold water soak earlier in the day, looked lovely… and were tremendously fun and open to anything for the short time we spent together.

We took a quick jaunt to Redstreak Creek, just inside the gates of Kootenay National Park, where the light was fantastic and the moss and trees were a fantastic shade of green.  It was a spectacular day and the shoot was casual and light and this opportunity opens the door to a great day of images in early July when I join them for the big day!

I so look forward to it because, if this shoot, down-to-earth, outdoorsy, and just plain fun, is an indication of what’s to come, it won’t be hard to give them a whole lot to choose from!

Well, blimey!  Another weekend… another FANTASTIC couple!

Johanne and Jeff, hailing from the wilds of Northern Ontario, chose the Columbia Valley… and the banks of the Columbia River, in particular, on which to exchange the vows that would bind them for a lifetime.

In addition myself, the lucky folks in attendance were the dear Andy Stuart-Hill, wedding commissioner extraordinaire, wedding planner, Leanne Brooks, best friend, Mark and the handsome couple, themselves.

A very small affair without a doubt, but there was enough love for hundreds… thousands, even!

So, without further ado… the deliriously happy couple….

My baby turned five last week.  We got swept up in the festivities, which began I suppose on Tuesday night, with her request for Tony’s for dinner… and continued into Wednesday- her actual birthday- with dinner and cake over at Nan’s… and carried over into Friday afternoon, where we hosted a gaggle of neighborhood kids well into the evening after the parents showed up to join in….

She’s no longer baby girl, on her way beyond little girl… to girl.  And after two boys, I find myself indulging her in all the things girls love… such as the colour pink, Hannah Montana, Groovy Girls, Polly Pockets, and these….

And her sprinkly cupcakes… a personal favourite!

In amongst all the pink and sparkles… there’s still dirt under the fingernails… thank goodness!

And, in enjoying the sparkly cupcakes, as with her mother, no need for restraint!

Happy Birthday, Fifi-Lala!  You are my dream…..
