Wow!  Since the beginning of July- which seems like last week, for cryin’ out loud- things have been hopping!  In my simple little valley existence, my last weeks can only be described as ‘being slammed’!  I’ve got images coming out the ying yang, but slowly… slowly… I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel… or at least the glimmer of one!

The Templeton’s have been patiently waiting to see the work we did earlier this month, and- whew!- here is a taste… discs are in the mail… really!!

Often my family shoots involve little ones.  And, I have to say, despite my history in weddings and shooting mainly young adults in that context, this shoot still sort of made me nervous… “no kids?!”  Erk!  How would I break the ice without conversation about Dora and Transformers?!

Well, we worked it out… and had fun!  Well, I did anyhow… and like to think this incredibly agreeable bunch did, too.  Staying true to my season so far… game, ready for anything, and just so gosh-darned purdy!  Each and every one of them…  Thank you, Templetons!  I look forward to seeing you on the lake!

So begins July in a flurry of activity…

Back from a whirlwind vacation all over the U.S mid-atlantic on the last day of June.  Running the last leg of a team triathlon at the Canada Day Fantastic 3 up at Fairmont Ski Hill on the 1st.  And, on a wondrously sunny and warm morning of the 2nd… off to scenic Parson to shoot a most lovely couple sealing the deal at the rustic family cabin overlooking the Columbia Valley.

The sun came up strong, bright and HOT!  And, for the most part, -erk!!- cloudless….

Sarah and Rick… it was a PERFECT day to get married… and you were a PERFECT joy to work with… again! Thanks so much for making my job an easy one.  Here’s a little peek into a PERFECTLY magical day…

Morgan is a neighbour of ours.  She is great with our kids… other neighbours kids… anybody’s kids!  She is also graduating from highschool this month.  Wisely, she’s planning to take a year off, and likely travel.  She might then go off to pursue teaching- a natural choice… but she may also then go off and pursue something entirely unexpected.  But before she does, before she heads off into the world in her confident, well-adjusted way, I thought I’d capture her now… before this whole new life… of adventure… challenges… love… heartache… satisfaction… and happiness….

We shot a ton on this perfect evening.  In some of the shots, she still looks very much like a girl… in others, definitely a young woman.  Regardless, the camera loves her and her confidence and poise shines… through a pair of the most captivating blue eyes.

Morgan.
