I thought a shoot up at Kicking Horse would assure us a cool, breezy and somewhat cloudy afternoon… oh no. Did I have another thing coming. As it happened, it was, in fact, a very hot, VERY sunny day up on the ski hill a couple of weeks ago.

But Karla and her family of parents, sisters, neice and nephew, and partner John, rallied and despite the heat, did as they were directed and agreeably sat in the itchy, pokey, mosquito infested wildflowers on one of the lower slopes.

Not so much fun, but the flowers distracted the little ones from the hot, buggy misery until we finally cried ‘uncle’ and headed for a little shadier cover down by the cool of the river in town.

Here are a few highlights from Scott Kelby’s 2nd Annual Worldwide PhotoWalk… the first annual Invermere PhotoWalk, wonderfully led by the lovely Marlene Chabot, a great Invermere photographer.

The morning was busy around town that’s for sure, with Valley Appreciation Day and the weekly Farmer’s Market, and the sky was less than ideal:white and blown out… as our mid-summer valley skies are wont to be.  We began at Chabot Provincial Park down in Athalmere and wound our way up through downtown and back down to the Lakeside where we enjoyed lunch and sharing of the various challenges and triumphs of the morning… among other things.

But it was a fun morning of creativity and connecting with other local photographers and I look forward to participating next year… perhaps even leading our own down this end of the valley!

Just an observation… but it appears I have a propensity to frame everything to the left…. I wonder if this is indicative of some kind of condition… chronic left brain syndrome, perhaps?!?! Let’s work on that, shall we…

I’m only a couple of months behind in getting these up… and the actual family portraits are still to follow in another post, along with a quick, wham-bam-thank-you-maam, visit into DC to a couple of our favourite monuments.

We had a great time on holiday on the East Coast of the U.S… hubby’s neck of the woods, and while the weather largely sucked, the gang had a great time nevertheless!  Oh, correct me if I’m wrong but I do believe the eldest grandchild (she’s newly 14), only stands out like a sore thumb… oh, how I remember those years!!  See if you can spot ‘er!

So, without further ado, Boyer Family Vacation ’09… beginning with the Clean Teeth & Breath Contest to kick things off!  Only problem… Uncle Richie might want to consider more than TWO prizes for NINE kids….

Another simple, lovely- perfectly beautiful- day for a wedding down on the Columbia in Fairmont.  This quaint little spot is wonderful for a small affair.

Michele, Stan and their adorable 10 year-old daughter Cydney, along with the wonderful Andy Stuart-Hill (marriage commissioner extraordinaire) and a few of their closest friends, enjoyed the afternoon.

An afternoon, where everyone witnessed the pair finally “make it legal!”

Typically I choose only a small smattering of images to represent any given shoot, but with the Jordan clan… well, this (27 images!!!) is a small smattering.

I don’t know if it was that these brothers reminded me of my hubby’s family, or simply that the Jordan’s were just a lot of crazy fun, but I had a hard time keeping the number of pics to a reasonable number!

Thanks so much Barbara (the charming redhead somewhere below!), and to the rest of your lovely family!
