Well… finally… after much hair-yanking, foul-mouthing and home and family-neglecting… I’ve come up with a better way to feature some of my bigger, more image-dense posts…  slideshow, helll-llloooo…  this will work nicely.  At least until I decide it doesn’t.

And, so… without further ado, please let me introduce a wonderfully fun couple whom I had the pleasure of shooting in one of my favourite locations and working with one of my favourite marriage commissioners, the so very well travelled and delightful Mr. Andy Stuart-Hill.

The day was deliriously hot and beautiful and the couple?  Well… dare I say, likewise?!

Hot and beautiful?  Yes.  And a little crazy… fun and wonderfully generous, as subjects and hosts.   If Amanda is strikingly beautiful, gracious, a little reserved but remarkably game (think: Grace Kelly)… than Evan is all lighthearted, frenetic energy and maybe even just a tad goofy (think: Bob Hope or Jerry Lewis… but so much cuter!)… a modern day George and Gracie!

Omigosh… I believe I’ve stumbled upon a new way of introducing couples?!!  Annyyywhoooo….

They were a LOT of fun to shoot- so very easy!- and they’re wedding reflected both of them to a tee.

Thank you so much, Amanda and Evan, and all the very best as you head off on this new adventure.

At the end of July I enjoyed a wonderful shoot down on the west side of Lake Windermere.  It was the Martin family, a wonderfully game bunch, who wanted a shoot of all of them at the lake house that they’ve all enjoyed for years.

It was a stunningly beautiful day, and this lovely family- of several generations!- made the whole thing just that much easier.

I’ve tried to include a few from each of the individual shoots we did in the couple of hours we were together, but as always, you’ll see I got sucked into the little kid shots… litte Eva was all over that ‘winking bunny’ in my camera lens!  Again, note to self: slideshow… hell-llloooo!!

Thank you Nancy and all the rest of the family for a great morning by the lake!

This is an exciting week… we`ve got home projects on the go… a wedding shoot at the glorious Nipika Mountain Resort on Saturday… serendipitously enough, wrapped up with a two day yoga retreat back up at Nipika… woohoo!

In amongst all of that we are expecting my sister-in-law and her family on a quick stop here on their Rocky Mountain Extravaganza Tour.

She is from the DC area, Bethesda, Maryland, to be exact and they`ve taken these three weeks of travel through the rugged west in what was to be celebration of her recovery from a downright trying year of treatment for breast cancer.  As it turns out, this trip is really marking, one, a bright spot for her family after this past year, but also, a vacation to enjoy before she embarks on another journey through the trials of cancer treatment upon recently discovering a small tumour in the other breast…. talk about ups and downs!

These were images I took on our trip south in June, her recovery portraits…. given the great prognosis for this next round, and the fact that this time, there is no radiation required.  No chemo.  Surgery only- which is a relief!  I will still consider these images those of recovery… and we await their visit.  Their first to our fair valley.

Mary Elisa and family… looking forward to seeing you soon!

Kimberly and Randolph chose travel from where they work and live in Washington, DC (my old stomping grounds!!) to get married at Kimberly’s parents place on lovely Fort Point in Invermere on a wonderfully hot weekend in July.

The weather was hot and sunny early in the day for a picture perfect ceremony on the lake, officiated by the ever lovely Rosemary Bradford… and became deliciously stormy and full of atmosphere approaching supper time when we chose to meet for portraits (on their dock and down at Pynelogs Cultural Centre)… before the reception at historic Strand’s.

In fact, we made it just as the skies darkened ominously and opened up!

Thanks for a lovely day, Kim and Randolph… you never know, we may run into one another down on The Mall one of these days!  All the very best to you both as you begin this remarkable journey together!

  • Cull - Congratulations on everything guys-God bless!!! Wow!!! E-mail me!!

Ashley and Jeremy got married just a few houses down, at her parents overlooking Columbia Lake.  It was a gorgeous day with a bit of a breeze and the lovely affair went off without a hitch.

The lovely Rosemary Bradford officiated, as all of their friends and family witnessed this so very pretty couple exchange vows over the lake, with the Rockies as the backdrop.  You really couldn’t ask for more… and as a result, I had a hard time limiting the images for this post.

I really must start doing slideshows!

Thanks so much to Ashley and Jeremy (and ol’ Ma Nature, of course) for such a perfect afternoon…
