I’ve probably included a weather rant in each one of my posts lately… as it WILL NOT stop raining… but last weekend in Golden saw yet another afternoon of sun in an otherwise crazy day of wet weather! Short of snow, I believe I drove through every possible weather genre… genre? Whatever… anyways spring has just been downright weird!
So, back to sunny Golden. This was Luke and Laura’s afternoon for sure. Just a pretty, pretty day at Vagabond Lodge at the foot of amazing Kicking Horse Mountain.
Pretty is about as perfect a word as you can get with regards to the couple’s simple, elegant mountain wedding. From the prettiest of brides, Laura was radiant, to the simple and delicate- pretty!- bouquets to the lovely- pretty!- table setting…. the ceremony spot, the cake, and all of the family and friends.
It was just a well-executed, understated, pretty affair from start to finish.
I began with the guys in the basement, where the unfortunate bunch was relegated with only cable TV and a pool table as they waited for Laura to finish getting ready. Everything else was arranged outdoors and, as if on cue, the sun made it’s appearance as Laura made her way down the aisle with her dad.
We finished the afternoon of photography down in the village of Golden playing around the pedestrian bridge crossing the Columbia River. The light couldn’t have been better… just so very, very pretty!
Laura, Luke and family… it was a gorgeous afternoon up in Golden and you were all such a pleasure to work with. I wish you all the best as you make a new life together out east.
Luke and Laura….
