Whew! With the holidays said and done… it’s back down to bizznezzzz! A few gigs behind, I’m getting around first to posting my New Years Eve afternoon up on the mountain.
Karena and Neill of Glasgow, Scotland, eloped over New Years to the sparkly summit of Panorama to celebrate their union and their love. And a more-in-love couple you’ll be hard-pressed to find… I thought Karena would topple poor Neill right off the side of the mountain when the charming Mr. Stuart-Hill offered they were free to kiss for the first time as husband and wife! They were so excited to be on the mountain and downright exuberant in the fact they were getting married. Truly lit up… I was honoured to be a part of it.
We began the shoot at their hotel room and shortly thereafter made our way to our transportation up to the summit- a helicopter! While we began the shoot down below in delicious light of the soupy clouds, sprinkles of snow and the occasional gentle sun beam making itself from through the grey, once we disembarked up top… or should I say ducked for dear life as, what appeared little more than the AirHog my eldest son got for Christmas, lifted off from the summit, leaving us crouching in the swirling snow… the clouds parted. Sun!
It was a glorious afternoon, and a lovely ceremony (as always, thank you, Mr. Stuart-Hill!). We came equipped with all implements warm and cozy, but between the sun, the excitement and a good dose of adranalin, there was none required. We were also so very fortunate to be at the top of the mountain with the couple’s two very qualified friends and attendants- Panorama Ski Patrol! Whew!
To Karena and Neill… I wish you all the love and excitement this unique day represented, through soupy clouds and beaming sunshine! All the very best… and I think more brides should consider getting married in floral Wellies!
